Purpose:

To be fed as early as possible to animals as an aid in the prevention and treatment of the effects of stress. Acidola Plus provides essential electrolytes, and minerals lost due to scours and dehydration. Acidola Plus is a source of bacteria for the establishment of a positive microflora in the gastro-intestinal tract.

Directions Calves:

Mix 1 scoop (140 g.) with 12 kg. milk replacer and feed according to directions. May also be mixed with 100 liters of cow's milk Continue to feed for the first 30 days. Smaller operations use 1 teaspoon per head/day.

Hydrogen Peroxide: Hydrogen peroxide is a by-product of Lactobacilli metabolism and has "germicidal" effects in the digestive tract of the bottled animal. There is a synergistic effect between different substances, notably, acidolin and acidophylline and hydrogen peroxide, to control the proliferation of potentially pathogenic microorganisms in the digestive tract.

 

Several studies have demonstrated the inhibitory effect of hydrogen peroxide from Lactobacilli cultures on the development of Pseudomonas, Bacillus and Proteus. Other studies have shown that hydrogen peroxide produced by Lactobacilli cultures suppressed Staph growth. aureus, E. colt, Clostridium botulinum and other unwanted bacteria.
